videos | at work | information | view | construction
On this episode of Roadkill, HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan join Fred Williams and Rick Péwé of Peterson's 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine to compete in the infamous Cheap Truck Challenge. Riding into battle with a modded 1979 Bronco, they face-off against a rock-ready 1980 Toyota Pickup and a beastly 1987 Chevy Suburban in a cash-strapped quest for ultimate off-road glory. Roadkill appears on the Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=motortrend Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag & http://facebook.com/hotrodmag Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend Google+ - https://plus.google.com/101867967859016552744/posts Website - http://www.motortrend.com & http://www.hotrod.com

The rear overhang on the suburban is extraordinary.

I really need a real bronco.. to go with my wannabe bronco blazer. I was going to try and pawn it off on somebody to get into a bronco, but since the only way I'll get a return on all the money I've spent trying to make it go more than 50ft under its own power is to keep it.. and I've grown rather fond of the Swiss cheese lookin heifer. kinda want a late 70s and a late 90s bronco, we'll see what I find when I have the cash sitting around for one..

I love this show!!! 😁 -
I haven't gone trail riding and mudding in something like 15+ years.
Some of my best memories are going mudding till 1-2 am then rolling into the local Perkins covered in mud.
I'm surprised they never kicked us out for making such a mess. -
@2:48 Freiburger says "This is total flashback. Everyone I knew in the '80's had one of these."
Didn't Marty McFly have one of those? -

Where the heck do you find cars like this? Maybe it's just because my neighborhood is upper-class, but the oldest car I've seen for sale around here is 2005. Anything before that gets sent to the junker.

Am I the only one that it bugs that non of the cheap truck challenges ever feature a 88-98 Chevy truck. You can buy one for under a grand. They can fit 33s with no curing and 35s with minor trimming. Along with there tough as nails stock.

Reasonable bottom switch path pool.

Wow, I didn't expect the accidental Etho reference.

I cant believe he found a suburban that cheap. I want one of those! Any idea about the tires too? I have an f250 with 16x6s and would love to get an extra set with those tires on.
