America is generally perceived as the land of multinationals and the home of Nike and Pepsi etc. But according to SBA (Small Business Administration) it is the small businesses that create more than half of the jobs in America's private sector. During these times of economic crisis and rising unemployment, a growing number of people attempted to start small businesses. In this package we see the challenges that stand in the way of these businesses by looking at the day to day running of a Pakistani restaurant, Kabobs Inn. Along with the owner of the restaurant, the package also features comments from Siddique Sheikh, president of Pakistani American Business Administration who points out that 70 percent of local restaurants do not survive. He blames lack of business training and unwillingness to utilize modern marketing / advertising methods as the causes for their failure.
