Hi there, everything you talk about here is very true. I graduated class A CDL school in May 2014, found a B HAZMAT job a few months later delivering Propane gas. Your definitely right. It is a hustle everyday and Mentally/ physically demanding. In and out of truck countless times a day. Making sure you get all deliveries done. Winter time is extremely tuff too. It will make you or break you for sure. Chaining up your tires every other delivery due to snow packed roads just to deliver propane so people don't freeze, at the same time your life's on the line w 2500 + gal of Combustible gas on your back. Sometimes i think I'd rather be hauling tortillas. Thanks for your lessons and helpful info.

You can make more than class a drivers depending who you work for and what you do exactly. I been with FED for about 11 years now and I'm OTT class B. Right now freight is slow. I've also driven class A OTR. I'm thinking about going back to class A.

Ready mix is very well paid job (42-55 grand) only requiring a only class B. we've hired school bus drivers before some do well some do not. As the job has no set hours this I find to be the most difficult thing people have a problem with.

Your 100% right about th physical part for a class b driver. I have a class a and never driven a tractor trailer. Always worked for produce companies out of NYC. Making anywhere between 10-20 stops per day from 4am to sometimes 5pm. Pay range usually anywhere from 800.00 to 1200 net. 6 days a week. In my opinion this is very physical, but it is much better than being otr if you have family.
