This machine has D6 dozer single grouser pads on it. stock pads are 17" and these are way wider. to get them to fit they were prolly cut off on the inside and left long on the outside and thats why they look unusually wide for this machine. makes an offset pad on the mounting but dosent cause problems and is done on many LGP machines. This series of 955 has the D6 undercarriage.

I got to run a 955L just like this for about 3 weeks i loved it. The one i ran had the 3 grouser pads on it and a winch with a home made stupm spliters. Loved the sounnd of that turbo spinin up. Wish i had the money to buy it and the land just to mess around with it.

SOME LOVELY STEEL THERE

@skadill Yep it was the same here the UH machines turned up good bye track loaders and old 2wd rubber tired backhoes hello Excavators that was the end of trackloaders forever or pretty much forever.

You said "grousers". I haven't heard that term in ages from an operator...I drove D8, D7, D85A, D3, John Deere 455's and a few odd trucks in my time, but not many people use the term grousers now...

Notice that thy have single-grouser dozer pads on this machine. Great for pushing but you lose maneuverability. I've never seen a bucket like that. Brush rakes sure are handy. I have a friend with a JD 450C loader that is a very handy tractor. It's small enough that you can transport it easily but it will do some serious digging and pushing. It's around a 1974 year of manufacture. Foot clutch and lever steer. Rear scarifier teeth.

@DemoBoy350L They have gone the way of the dinosaur, this is a near never seen sight here.

@Graveltrucking First piece I ever ran was a JD 450 tracked loader with hoe attachment, they were popular machines for a complete acreage development .To clear the homesite, put the driveway in,trench for the water lines and septic system, and grade the yard off after. The excavator really began threatening them residentially in 1984 to 1985 and by 1988 the excavator was almost always requested for a job. Thus the intro of the famous Hitachi UH07 and Deere 490 and such now had market share.

Are the 977's up there popular?

Those track loaders may have left the Valley, but they will never leave my heart.

I used to operate a old 955 it was a little older, I also had the engine out the machine stripped down fixed the flywheel other stuff on the engine put the whole macine back together. Pushing with the machine fell in a hole the machine was almost straight up and down forwards I almost left a load in my pants. Trackloaders were stopped being used back in the 80s around here, after running a trackloader that are handy for some jobs. You could spread and walking in the material.

hillcrest construction lol thats where i live in alberta gotta love an old track loader thats what i learned on as well seems the 955 was a lot more common then the 941b. the 3rd function would normally be used for a 4in 1 bucket
