He went back to college to follow his interest in aviation after his first couple of jobs didn't work out. "My first proper job was with a flying club, and I was involved with anything and everything there. Flying clubs really are the bottom rung, and you muck in, you're involved in everything from fixing aircraft through to the facilities, through to helping pilots' training. It's a fantastic community." He worked in the Caribbean for five years, and now he's in charge of aircraft maintenance at the airport.
