Cardamom, or also called sometimes Cardamon or Cardamum, is a spice usually grown in Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan. Family: Zingiberaceae Genera: Elettaria and Amomum. Locally called Elaichi (Nepali) in Nepal, But for past 4 to 5 years a viral infection has caused a huge damage to this cash crop. Once the infection started the whole crop has been destroyed in the entire belt of cultivation in many parts of Nepal, which has directly hampered the farmer whose earnings depends on this crop. My father showing me how he is trying to avoid the plant from this deadly viral diseases. Though there are no government support or any research facility to study the cause of infection which is like a cancer to this plant. He is giving his best through the mere knowledge of his experience of growing this plant.
