Dashcam footage has captured the moment a truck travelling at high speed slammed into an overpass on a highway in Canada, causing its rear box to fall off onto the road. The dump truck was travelling westbound on a highway just east of Toronto on Thursday when the back of the vehicle collided with the concrete bridge, local news station CTV Toronto reported. It appears that the box of the dump truck was raised at the time it was travelling under the bridge. The raised box struck the overpass bridge and became detached from the truck itself," a police spokesman said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and police have confirmed the 22-year-old truck driver, who has since been charged with careless driving, was not injured. The highway however was closed for a number of hours while engineers were called in to inspect the bridge. It has since been reopened.
