In the event of this emergency, there is a system in place to cut the chutes; however, if it fails, the last step is to pull the left hand lock restraint lever for ''10-20 seconds'' in case it is a lock that is preventing the extraction. If that were to also fail, then you notify the pilot of the condition. I think most of us would attempt to cut the chute, but just think... being that it is such a large load, I'm sure it would be nearly impossible to squeeze past it quickly enough to get back to the extraction chute line. Most of these loads fill out the entire cargo compartment. If I knew we were going down, I would sure try, but after running through the emergency procedure, there sure wouldn't be much time left. Not to mention, going aft of an 'unrestrained load' with double 28's fully deployed doesn't necessarily rest easy with the timid.

Thank you for your comment but there is a reason for the use of the 2 x 28ft extraction chutes. Unfortunately it did not go right is this case and the aircraft crashed.

this malfunction is incorrect able 2 x 28 foot extraction parachute is will bring the aircraft to stall at no time and the platform can not be restrained by the loadmaster so he can cut loose the extraction parachute. I think dropping double 28 feat extraction parachute is worthless.
