There 'ere is John Moses Browning's signature piece. The Ma Deuce (M2) has been in continuous service for nearly a century, and there's no sign the old girl is slowing down anytime soon. Every other machine gun designed to replace her has proven inferior.
She has a cyclic fire rate of 450-550 rounds a minute, can be fed from either side, and fires from a closed bolt. The cylinder on the back of her receiver can be rotated to adjust the buffer tube for full auto, or semi automatic fire. Don't try to use the primer end of a .50 BMG as a hammer or you'll blow your hand off. (This actually happened to someone.) -
i net i could mmake one of these
-
its a closed bolt in full auto, when put in semi its open bolt. selector switch is the cylinder under the butterfly trigger. it rotates to select fire. and the rof is can be changed by adjusting the head space and timing.
-
aren't all the best guns simple guns?
-
Well Matt you just made yourself look like a dumbass on the internet. It is a closed bolt weapon numnuts and you can switch which side to feed the rounds from. So next time know what the fuck you are talking about before you flap your gums about something.
-
I'm pretty sure u can adjust which way u want to feed the ammunition on a 50 cal just by flopping the feed rail guide thingy on the top of the bolt.
-
The 50. Isn't a closed bolt, and is doesn't even feed from the right, wtf is this?
-
thanks
-
@killermonkeypeople4 Nope, the 50 is a closed bolt.
-
wheres the hammer?
-
@SecuR0M wtf ??? 1200 its theoretic rate of fire is 600 rpm in praxis its even less
-
Omg never new the barrel was below the belt on that
-
@ElPhantasamo lolwat brown bess/land pattern musket served longer iirc something like 90 years tbh
-
@EvansFTW Up to 1,200 RPM is slow? lolwat
-
@k1baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa No, This is the gun that has been in active US military service than any other weapons system (since 1923). Its also used by many NATO and non-NATO forces all over the world.
-
Okay, that's just too interesting
-
isnt this known as the gun that has jammed the most out of any other gun ? hahaha
-
@SKoGoMoney you said that a reliable gun uses large parts i am saying that small parts does not determine reliability
