This is my Brott 202 Ride On flail grass cutter made by Edward Thomas & Company in Oswestry, Shropshire in 1967.... This old girl is now 47 years old! These is quite a rarity now and is a "Bonkers" bit of kit! Powered by a 7 horsepower,Briggs and Stratton single cylinder 4 Stroke petrol engine.....driving through a whole series of belts, shafts, chains, 2 clutches and an Albion 4 speed gearbox! She has a split (two piece) steel roller on the rear and two pneumatic tyres on the front with a foot pedal operating the drum brakes.....steering is by the upright handlebar tiller and you have a sprung saddle like the ones you see on a really old motorbike! To top it all, the flail drum (driven via the centrifugal clutch) spins into a frenzy discharging the cut grass out of the shoot to the rear! I told you it was a bit "Bonkers"...... A real fun thing that you enjoy for all its daft quirkyness.... it certainly puts a smile on my face =I:-)
