Machines | Bobcat 418 Singletrack. Trail construction on steep hill.
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Bench cut singletrack mountain bike trail construction. The Bobcat 418 is digging trail up a steep hill with a very steep drop to the right side down to a river. The hill in front of the machine is dug into, and the dirt placed behind to lessen the overall grade. My company builds trails and custom attachments for excavators such as hydraulic thumbs. I am glad took time to look at your video it was good! We are trying to show our own people about ATVing that it is great. We are running into a lot bad attitudes here where we live. It real struggles to build...

Could you not just have driven through the trees to the left, straight over the top of the hill? Very impressive, all the same.

Now that must be quite steep! :) F-word ;)

Hi, how did u build your thumb? I have a 418 and considering putting a thumb on just curious how u went about it? We're building bike trails with it in northern British Columbia.

Hey, looks pretty efficient. Are you working with the narrow track width here? Do they migrate wider at all for you? What don't you like about that size? I'm considering a 10 or a 17 hp. Got a VIO20 with a Helac wrist now that's good for wider trails, but looking to do more singletrack width.

Thanks for the cool vid . Just bought 50 acres and need a road to the top ridge . My 2 wheel drive ATV won't make it up . Wasn't sure if I should rent a bobcat with bucket or one of these mini excavators .. Wish you were my neighbor , lol

you got skills. Do you ever worry about rolling it? I'm trying to learn so I'll be able to make trails on our land. It's not quite as steep.
Ask me how I know about that !!!
Great looking countryside .
