First of all, 45,000 NM of torsional rigidity is stupid awesome, that's more than Lamboghini Murcielago's 17,000NM/ degree, Jag F type, 33,000 NM/ degree, Cadillac ATS 29,000 NM/ degree, 458 33,120 NM/ degree, 911 30,000 NM/ degree and all Lamboghinis...... Just 20,000 NM behind the 1.6 million Agera. Actually, the only car ahead M4 are Agera R and Bugatti so far. That's hell of a car! Nothing Mercedes and Audi can do.
Albert Biermann is a very smart guy. Isolating the rear axle carrier and final drive from the rear axle by rubber bushings+ pivot joins and isolated the final drive from rear axle carrier with 4 small rubber bushing in front, one large rubber bushing at the back. The whole geometry is connected to the frame directly by 4 connection rods from the rear axle carrier which increase the stiffness of the rear part. Although that design will cause the rear axle to move with the rear axle carrier since the rear axle carrier is the fulcrum but it's an M4, a sportscar that also needed to care about comfort, it can't be too stiff. Wonder what mods they did to the M4 GTS.
The front part is also a smart design with an engine brace from top to bottom and connected to A pillar via front suspension struct to increase front end rigidity. Same way as he designs E46 M3 GT-R a decade ago.
The target boost match is very smart. Most turbo cars lose power in high altitude and hot weather but the target boost match helps maintain boost by adjusting turbo wastegate. Top Gear UK GT-R v M6 v Bentley in Africa where both cars suffered heatsoak while M6 still running strong is a great example of boost match!

Thank you - such a fascinating video. I enjoy how Albert explains the development/benefit of the M-specific parts and philosophy of the brand.

I never get tired of listening to Albert talk about M Engineering.... Awesome video

Great video. This gentlemen designed the cages for the E30 M3, and E46 M3 GTR no big deal! The things I would do to get to have a chassis set up conversation with him...

Some guys don't deserve to be there.... pay some god damn attention ! Many of us would die for an oportunity like that
