Machines | Blast It Clean - Cleaning Paint and Rust off Dump Truck Bed
videos | at work | information | view | construction
In this video, we cleaned the paint and rust off the exterior dump truck bed for one of our current customers. We used sand to remove the existing paint and take the surface down to bare metal because it does not damage the surface and it is the cheapest media option. It is always less expensive to rebuild mils by painting rather than using a specialty blast media to minimize the profile to the surface. This customer of ours frequently has us blast large vehicles such as this dump truck, typically we clean the surface to bare metal on areas such as the bed, frame, and wheels. For this job we only cleaned the exterior walls of the dump truck bed as well as about 5 inches down on the inside for the cap. Our customer requires us to blast the surface so they can apply a new paint coat. This video displays the first dump truck we did for this job, however the job includes 3 total, identical dump trucks.

Hello Mr. Blastitclean kc
Thanks for your feedback.
Yes I want to top of the line. Nice and shiny and won't chip as easy or all.
Yes I know it's a dump truck and will get beat up with time.
I do own and drive the truck.
So that's why I want the best since not only will it look sweat but I'll appreciate my truck more and more.
Also just found out that the cab and bed or two different types of paint.
Some say to do a single stage for the cab but some say to do the 2 stage?
What do u recommend?
My dad helped me put some wood and the inside of the bed to help it take alot of the damage caused by the broken concrete.
That really helped alot. I wish I would have listen to his advise. -
Hello that's kool.
I'm gathering info on how to paint my dump truck. It's a 1995 t600 with a super 10.
I want to paint it dark cloisonne from the t800 models. Looks like a dark blue and then purplish. It has some metalics aswell.
The guy at the paint store said it had a lot of pearl and would change color due to shadows. Man can't wait.
So what type of paint do u recommend?
I know it's a dump truck. That's why this will be my first vehicle that I will paint. I want it to be shiny.
I heard something about 15k paint?
Don't know what that meant.
Can y shine some info. Thanks in advance
Nice thanks for that input. I'll take ur knowledge to the pain dept. Store and let u know what happened.
I'll go ahead with the 2 stage. And used the same paint on both the bed and cab.
I'm still gathering money and I'll keep you posted on how it comes out. :)
