Real Blackwater Afghan Mercs test firing "The Punisher"...a modified NSV heavy machine gun that shoots Russian 12.7x108 (US .50 cal is 12.7x99) close to 900 rpm. This was a 60 round belt that we timed to get an accurate cyclic rate. This gun is AK-reliable, cheap and will absolutely shred a soft-skinned vehicle or fortified position. Once vehicle mounted, they terrified the Taliban along the Kunar valley.

Holy shit dude, this thing screams Fuck you and your house, and your car and your everything... Impressive!

High rpm on such a big machine gun is impressive. But unless it is crew served with loads of ammunition in the tank or IFV, then high rpm is not necessary.
450-500rpm is good enough even for LMG for short bursts of fire to keep enemy pinned, what more HMG.
I believe this weapon would be best used in a remote weapon station on an IFV for high rpm sustained fire. -
If that were the case, no one would use mini guns. Sometimes, more is more...

this video is one big cool story bro, I can't really see a need for a doubled rate of fire as the weapon was very accurate with the reasonable 450-500 rpm.

"cheap" is quite a term :) how much exactly this thing cost? just asking

92armyman, PTSA has more knowledge of weapons and tactics than you will ever have. You've probably never even fired a real firearm, only airsoft and a PS3 or Xbox controller. That was a real gun we modified and tested to see what the mods did to the cyclic rate. Google NSV and see what you come up with....

wow, its no joke to face a 12.7mm from 10 feet away lol.

Thats my buddy shooting that gun and he had some sh?tbird shot his hat off and almost killed him with that same gun from about ten feet, as ole boy didn't get control of the gun before pulling the trigger, and it jumped up and started shooting down the firing line, with my buddy looking down the barrel. Luckily he's alright, the Afghani behind him wasn't so lucky.
