On May 5th, The Elephant Sanctuary would like YOUR support for "Big Machines for Big Girls" as part of The #BigPayback, a 24-hour online fundraising campaign. The Sanctuary will use your contribution to purchase heavy machinery to maintain its 2700-acre natural habitat for retired circus and zoo elephants in southwest Middle Tennessee. The Sanctuary provides safe refuge and forever home to 12 female elephants. In the wild, elephants roam many miles a day in search of food or water: A sanctuary habitat allows captive elephants to walk, roam, forage and splash, much like they would in the wild—but it takes serious equipment to maintain a tract of land large enough for these Girls!
