5:16:00 again duncan is wrong in every complaint he has.. This game isnt about "clicking fast" to attack "first" before the opponent. It literally makes zero difference to the combat outcome if YOU attack or the ENEMY attacks (provided the same 2 units fight each other). There is no +15 combat strength because you attacked first. Doesnt exist.
He never understood this in civ5 either, despite countless years and games they've played.
I've seen him lose wars because he moved archers into flat plains instead of keeping them behind a river on a hill.
I've seen him lose cavalry squads because he march them through a forest towards spearmen instead of a nearby open plains.
You are actually having the advantage if you fortify and DONT attack, let the enemy attack you. Even without fortification this means the enemy needs to deal with all the terrain defensive bonuses of your troops on hills and crossing the rivers.
How can he be so clueless after years and years of playing civ5, where the combat mechanics are pretty close to exactly the same, including flanking and other stuff, that he still has no clue about.
And im not a fuckin mlg pro civ gamer, i'm a fucking idiot with just 30h of civ6 and 200h of civ5.
I love duncan but i get so fucking sick and tired of his fucking bullshit whining every god damn second about things that HE is doing WRONG or stuff that HE doesnt fucking understand even after 5 years, because he cant be arsed to spend 5 minutes to read on how the game mechanics since civ5 vanilla release works.
If you're gonna shit up the entire stream by nonstop complaining and reloading savegames, you better have a real reason for it.
It shouldnt just be because of ignorance. Yet i fucking love the bastard so much, civ wouldnt be the same without him.
I just wish we could enjoy civ games WITHOUT nonstop complaining about things that are "annoying bullshit" that is completely based on his own ignorance. 9/10 his comments are entirely factually incorrect, thats what grinds my gears and triggers my rage xD
Yes the Civ ai is fucking garbage, but that had nothing to do with any of the shit going on in this war. -

I don't get how they dont know how to combat war weariness, when you're in war sacrifice cards for amenity cards and war weariness reduction cards, build entertainment districts and most of all dont let you units die, cycle you're units on low health Duncan was just charging low health units into enemies with higher combat strength he should of fortified and cycled he had the road advantage.

They gotta scale everything to be faster, including war weariness. I always play on Epic in singleplayer and its an utterly completely different game, to playing Superquick on Tiny maps online. Not even the same game what so ever.
Its like comparing Europa Universalis to Starcraft. But in the end you cant really fault the game for not being able to transform into a quick-click fast game, when its not really meant to be that in the first place.
Despite what people who play online quick games on tiny maps think, civ was never built or designed to be a game played like that. It's designed with the mechanics to be played on Standard speed on at least Normal sized maps, as are all the game mechanics around it.
Imagine if you literally took Europa Universalis and scaled everything to be 10x faster. It'd be an absolute fucking mess with a large empire mid/lategame. Unplayable. Game mechanics about rebellion and war weariness and casus belli and all the pop simulation would just devolve into a fucking clickfest of nonsense and random stuff.
But for some reason people still dont understand that about Civilization. It was never meant to be played as a superquick apm rts.
They include the Quick and Online speed because the subset of players who play online demands it.
But the core game mechanics were never, since Civ1 and through to Civ6 (including Civ5), never designed around balancing such a ridiculously fast gamespeed.
