The first commercial film created to sell a company's products: in this case, farm machinery. Our hero, George, sweats bullets and swats flies as he toils on a rundown farm of about 1900. The women are sweating and swatting in the kitchen, including Mollie the farmer's daughter, played by Essanay star and future Mrs. Francis X. Bushman, Beverly Bayne. George flees to the city, returning a decade later to find the old place completely transformed by modern farm machinery and even indoor plumbing. Nary a fly in sight! International Harvester took this movie on the (country) road, exhibiting an entertaining version of their sales pitch at state fairs across the nation. Piano accompaniment by David Drazin.
