Once you monitor the count per time then it's a done deal. The module has everything it needs. There are dedicated chips that do that now days...

If your pecker gets caught in the window, you obviously have much bigger problems. LOL So then the computer receiving ripple counter pulses must also monitor the timing of the pulses as well as well as the count. Is this correct?

Yes, you're right. Try and stop a windows with a ripple counter and you'll see it'll stop. In the old days your pecker could get stuck in the window glass and be cut. Those were the old days. Most windows may not be strong enough to hurt an adult, but definitely a child. Ripple counters are now found in almost all motorized systems. Thanks for sharing.

Don't they use these ripple counters so you can just touch a button once and the window will go all the way up or all the way down without having to hold the button? If so, shouldn't the computer also monitor the current going to the motor looking for a sudden increase, which would happen if something resisted the window? Without such circuitry, it wouldn't be fail safe. Someones hand could get crushed in a closing window.
