A Tribute to the Austin Family Nearly 100 years ago George L. And Elva Austin had a dream of farming and raising a family on the farm. Through the good times and bad, droughts, hail storms, dust storms, and farm equipment evolution, three sons and a daughter of their eight children enveloped their parents dream. Joanne kept the books, George Franklin loved mechanic work, Roy liked the farming and planting, and Keith was the best handyman and could do about anything. The dream blossomed and ballooned as the farm flourished. Many people have been associated with the Austin Farm through the fruit of their labors whether it be equipment sales or repairs, alfalfa hay, turkeys, cattle, or grains. As the last of the four is laid to rest, a handful of neighbors gathered to harvest their seed wheat so the descendants can place that precious seed wheat in the ground which will flourish and grow and once again produce the fruit from Man's labor. For this is the cycle of God's Farmers! From the dreams to enduring the hardships or blessings of the season, to the end of life, whether Man or Plant, God's plan prevails.
