Great video!
That sight glass seal had to be the perfect fit because inside the glass, there's an equalizing pressure of steam and water. I've seen some false readings on sight glasses before, which can be very dangerous. If you're not getting the right indication and you have no alternative way of reading the level (which all steam engines are required to have at least 2) you can risk having a boiler explosion. -
Just subbed to you! Dan

Thanks for the video Mike. It looks like a great Steamer. Will be nice to see it on the rails again.

Great video, Mike! :-) Excellent coverage and narration, just like a mini-documentary on TV! ;-) Those old steam locos are really magnificent machines, and it's so gratifying to see efforts being made to keep some of them still alive and running. :-)
Thanks, thumbs up as always, and wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Norfolk Joe -
Thanks Mike, and Merry Christmas to you and the family.

Well done Mike, enjoyed that very much. You explained things very well. That locomotive was originally built in my neck of the woods. Thank you.
