Machines | Ascent - Commemorating Shuttle
videos | at work | information | view | construction
you can download the ISO file of the Special edition DVD. https://sites.google.com/site/ascentcommemoratingshuttle/ Photographic documentation of a Space Shuttle launch plays a critical role in the engineering analysis and evaluation process that takes place during each and every mission. Motion and Still images enable Shuttle engineers to visually identify off-nominal events and conditions requiring corrective action to ensure mission safety and success. This imagery also provides highly inspirational and educational insight to those outside the NASA family. This compilation of film and video presents the best of the best ground-based Shuttle motion imagery from STS-114, STS-117, and STS-124 missions. Rendered in the highest definition possible, this production is a tribute to the dozens of men and women of the Shuttle imaging team and the 30yrs of achievement of the Space Shuttle Program. The video was produced by Matt Melis at the Glenn Research Center. Finally PAO uploaded a 720p version, not sure if we will get 1080p like you wanted, but at least we are making progress. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFwqZ4qAUkE

I fell asleep one Saturday night watching NASA channel; and woke up in the middle of the night to this video. Not the cropped views wih commentary, but just with the music and full screen in HD. AWESOMER! I have been searching for this vi for a couple years now, never thinking to look on Youtube. Mezmerizing!!! What man can really strive to do and do it. Also the privy views never seen before. I want to full frame vid with just the music to play at parties. Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Why did the boosters have to be bolted down? Did the weight of the vehicle not keep it in place by itself?

Amazing photography

43 people have no spirit of inquiry or wonder. Do they marvel at anything?

muito , muito interessante é uma maravilha de se ver !

I would watch this footage for 45 hours. Just spectacular. If they had these shots when we lost CHALLENGER, it would have allowed engineers to find the cause of the accident sooner.

Awesome doesn't describe this! I'm deeply saddened that it's all over. Is there a 2nd part? Perhaps "Descent"? In the upper left corner there was a 1/2...
