we were attached to 1st Cav. for 15 months.

I was a 62 Bravo and on deployment we did way more than they had us doing convoy ops vehicle recovery gun trucks security and bodyguard for the xo It was still a once in a lifetime experience loved it.

I was a 62B in a Detachment in Germany and we supported the 316th Combat Engineer Battalion (Medium)... I love nearly every minute! Yeah we went to the field a lot in support if the Combat Engineers. I was in a 3rd shop unit and we everything short of a complete tear down and rebuild of the component! We split bulldozers and bucket loaders and backhoes and so much more! We were even crossed trained as a generator repairer, light wheeled vehicle repairer, heavy wheel vehicle repairer!

I am a 91L and I don't work on any construction equipment, like the film said help maintain engineer equipment. That being said I work on wheeled vehicles for a route clearance company, long story short with this mos you are pretty much a tow truck for the army. If uou end up in a route clearance company have fun.

91L 20110811 Ft Sill OK.

Did this from 1990-95. Statement@1:20 can be true, but only if you're actually a good mechanic. Great place to start wrenchin' if you want to learn and looks great on the resume when u get out. I never did use that STE-ICE thing, though!!! But they are wrong about how hard you work - I work twice as hard as a civilian and get a lot more stuff fixxed in half the time than I ever did for Uncle Sam 'cause time is money and there's no room for do-overs / comebacks.

Deployments not a big deal. If you join just go with a job that you want to do and don't sweat it.
-
If you join the Regular Army, Army Reserves, or Army National Guard you can get deployed with pretty much any MOS you go with. Are you looking to join but not get deployed?

Hey its my old MOS, 62B10..hoorah!
