The Sandhills Antique Farm Equipment Club 2014 spring show was held at Sandhills Farm Park in Lillington, North Carolina on March 14 and 15th. Demonstrations of restored antique equipment included a thrashing machine, hay baler, silage cutter --blower, hammer mill, saw mill, a saw for cutting tobacco sticks, that were used to hang tobacco in the barn, a saw for cutting slabs of wood for use in the old fashion wood burning stoves, a restored well drilling rig (more like a well punch because it does not drill), and an interview with the President of the club. The full length video includes a demonstration of how turpentine, pitch and tar was harvested from the long leaf pine tree in the 1700 -- 1800's; the blacksmith hammering out horse shoes, antique tractors, cars and trucks. When I was a kid in the 50's we had a guy with a similar rig come and drill us an extremely deep well. Not sure how deep, but I remember my Dad telling me it was the deepest one for miles around. It never did go dry, even when we had a drought going. They found the exact spot by dowsing! This was rural south Jersey, back in the day. That well is still working now.

Great video and interviews. Very interesting information of the antique farm equipment used at the spring show. Looking forward to more videos.
