as a independant mechanic for the last 35 years. i can say without a doubt . every airtex unit i have EVER bought has failed. and now i hear ,airtex has bought "rich - porter" which WAS one of the only sources for mass air flow meters.
-
Curt - As always, excellent - good to see you.
-
you need to go for carter ac delco and those are the best one air tex makes horrible fuel pump and its crap when they say its installed wrong they just dont want to look bad
-
That is all Airtex does is when one of their fuel pumps goes bad.Say it was installed wrong 100% most of the time.Put one in a Pontiac Bonnevile once, would not run.Removed it out of the tank and it ran. There was something wrong and was installed correctly.Installed 6 in a row all Airtex,a Chevy truck and failed quickly.

sucks for you ya, but ya worked for me, ive exceeded my warranty already without a hickup.and ya like i said, what i didnt like was th vapor seal didnt fit so i got high as hell twice and i had to cut my connector off for a different one. will i buy from airtex again? ya but not smilar to what i got. for a honda that idc about? YUP!

the Delpi's come with a new plug because Airtex is the company that redesigned it for them! They are the ones that came up with the redesign. When my silverado pump fails I too will get a Delphi pump because they have strictly OEM quality standards.. But I'm positive it will be an Airtex pump inside. GM had issues with the plugs because they weren't built robust enough to carry the current for the pump therefore many of them melted..

When it fails,Airtex turns down for warranty called installer error and have been through this.Go look on the box of most Carquest fuel pump boxes, say Delphi on them now.Carquest had high failure rates when Airtex was their supplier and I know a former Carquest auto parts store owner that seen this a lot.
-
Still won't install Airtex fuel pumps, the number of failures went right down when Carquest switched to Delphi.I know a former owner of a Carquest auto parts store,he saw this happen. The Delphis come with a new plug in for the 2001 and down Chevy and GMC fullsize trucks, warranty is void when this plug in is not replaced. The plug in corroded and this was a problem.
-
Sorry man but your incorrect.. I work with the Vendors at Advance Auto Parts and A LOT of Delpi pumps are Airtex units.. The module assembly is made by Delphi but pull the bastard apart you'll find an Airtex pump.. Airtex used to be plagued with horrible quality control issues.. Even todays Airtex reps say if the box does NOT include a QR scanning code.. the pump is junk.. Trust me.. they're not the same company they were 5 yrs ago
-
Been through that.Had in a Pontiac Bonneville for a fuel pump replacement.Would not run installed in the tank.Ran when removed from the sending unit.Airtex called it installer error and it was not this.Chrysler does use Airtex for their OE fuel pumps, somehow they don't fail.
-
No they are not,Delphi is a company that makes their own products for GM.
-
Most Delphi pumps are made by Airtex...
-
QC has improved tremendously within the past few yrs..
-
Bosch are garbage... A lot of Delphi and Delco pumps are reboxed Airtex pumps..get your facts straight before you bash
-
Ive had my airtex fuel pump for 41,000miles and its never given me problems. The only things i didnt like was the vapor seal didnt fit so i had to use the one off my old pump and i had to cut off the connector and solder a new on. But it all seemed to pan out ok
-
Airtex fuel pump sucks, that's why i only use BOSH,Acdelco and Denso
-
u still dont want to run your car low it all becasue its still not good for it
-
Airtex is notorious for poor quality. Even failures right out of the box! I think they are trying to fix their reputation with this video.
-
Delphi and AC Delco for GM only.I won't install an Airtex fuel pump, replaced 6 of them in a Chevy truck once.Carquest used to use Airtex for their fuel pump supplier, dumped them and switched to Delphi.

@JTheGuitarPlayer Pretty sure they do but I bet it has a hole in it. :)
