Machines | Airdrop Malfunction, NASA Mars, Devon Island, Nunavut Territory, Canada 200007
videos | at work | information | view | construction
This is an airdrop malfunction of a custom-built Heavy Equipment (HE) airdrop platform from a C-130 as part of NASA's Mars exploration project at Devon Island in Canada's Nunavut territory in July 2000. The load consisted of habitat materials and were a total loss. Winds on the ground exceeded allowable limits for an HE airdrop but appear not to have affected the load's malfunction.
