Thinking about getting my a&p license how much is the salary atleast first to two years? I know demand will stay the same or go lower in the next few years for ac mechanics too.. And plus anyone ever went to spartan college here?
-
lol i make more working as a warehouse consignee (2530) plus 25 days paid vacation days a year. Actually i wouldn't have believed it :/ Airplane mechanic ought to have at least 3000 in my world.

Too good to be truth.

I'm in the Navy and work in aviation maintenance admin. I don't like it. When I get out I want to go to school for AMP license but an avionics technician told me an amp license is electronics too. I dont know if I can pass all their math stuff. Is he right about that or is he just trying to sound like he's an airfraimer or mech?

Don't laugh my ass. As mechanic I am paying about 700-800usd per month. One of the f.. shitest and unthankful job in russia. You will be treated like dirty and chipest slave.

Dude.. Sorry man but you don't make much... take a look at a paycheck that's worth looking at.. Yes we work outside..holidays, weekends.. after 32 years in the biz.. you would cry at what we make.... sorry man stroll on get your experience but don't brag on that

Hey Shawn do u have any Leads on A&P jobs for overseas
-
I think you need to explain who in the hell is paying that money to an aircraft mechanic because from what I understand the top hourly pay at airlines in about 35 bucks an hour and that's after 8 years. For the average aircraft mechanic it is no where near that kind of money.

every week or 2 weeks ?
-
Those are weekly checks?!

Retired mech here, active 1965-2009, not counting prior experience in military. Compensation ranged from adequate to excellent to none (temporarily) during period of airline bankruptcies and consolidation. Aviation is a big industry, with lots of niches and opportunities. I worked for airlines as A&P, electrician, avionics tech, and instructor. One thing that most people don't mention is the huge responsibility you assume as a mechanic, particularly if you work line maintenance and/or sign airworthiness release for an aircraft. You will usually not be given such responsibilities until you are trained and informed, but sometimes marginal operators may allow mechanics to assume the risks of working in an organization with inadequate support and resources. I do recommend getting an A&P, and all the additional technical training you can, because there are many things you can do with such skills besides work on airplanes. The more jobs that are taken by automation, the more the need for highly skilled technical people to keep the machines working.

Hi Shawn, I just became a certified A&P myself just a month back. I wanted to ask - what state do you work out of and/or who is your employer? I know that regional pay can fluctuate a bit
-
So close to having my A&P done! I'm anxious to put it to work!
-
my plan is to do this for the marines and when i get out get a job civilan job in the same feild

If it is a week salary its a very good indeed:) But how many hours and overtimes? Actually in my country you as an aircraft mechanic hardly reach this salary per month with all necessary qualifications required.
Also there is something what can be valued with something else than a money. You do work which matters and creates something real. Sitting in the middle of the rush office is not a job for a man. Man needs to do stuff, build things, catch mammoths, build houses, do something with its own hands:). Even as a software engineer who do a creative job you can feel very miserable if you not do some real stuff like heavy machinery repair or building things. -
I believe it. I've looked up my job online (I don't work as an aircraft mechanic but I would love to) and the average yearly earnings is listed at about 20,000 less than what I actually make.
-
outstanding, which company you work for?
-
i usto make close to the same being a heavy equipment operator.. just depens on the location
-
Keep up the good work...and remember that cocaine is gods way of telling you that you make too much money.

Good for you and your family. But I feel a paycheck is personal, no need for the public to see
