question. I obtained a ADI147, and I also have a TM241, essentially the same radio. I can take the 241 front panel apart in 2 mins. Last night the 147 display started doing the funky display problem. When I went to open it up, I can get the plastic tabs loose, I removed the tuning knob and mic nuts and washers, but I cant for the life of me get the faceplate off.....am I missing something?

same board as the kenwood tm-251which had the same prob with that cheap little connector
-
Elastomeric connector, aka 'zebra strip' are what those are called, they excel in shock and anti-vibration applications, reason why they used them in this.
-
FYI that rubber strip is commonly known as a zebra strip - and yes they can be a real pain to get lined back up in some bits of equipment :)

Hi I wonder if it would be possible to change the lighting to white leds?

Very Good Video ...!
-
That's great , This one had some issues.. Quick question how did you find this video? I have been getting a lot of views on this video lately and was wondering what brought people to this vid.

Nice fix! Might be a low-end radio but it's good enough to use for a spare or as a loaner for a new ham...
-
Yea the mic could have a faulty PTT switch. It should be easy to tell if the radio is stuck in TX or it is a fauly indication of the LCD malfunctioning.
-
I am having the same problem with mine. Also a mic problem. The LCD panel gives an indication that the the mic is still keyed up even after releasing the PTT button

Thanks for tips!!!! 73 guy!!!
