Machines | Add on Dump Kit for Dodge Ram Truck (Transformed)

Works great! Rated for over 4000lbs. My husband and I have burned wood to heat the house & the pole building every year since 2001. He had been thinking about making things easier and buying one of those $4000.00 Dump Trailers to haul firewood & various other things, such as top soil, stone & mulch. Then you begin to think about whether the Old truck will stand up to pulling the trailer weight plus the load itself. Do you buy another truck and a trailer? He could not stand the thought of spending the money, when we owned the Old Dirty Dodge free & clear. So after alittle research he bought an Add on Dump Kit that Cost around $1000.00. He wanted to be able to keep the Original bed w/Bumper But he did not want to remove his Hitch for pulling the Log Splitter out to the woods. Therefore only one vehicle goes to the woods with the gas prices in mind. So with a few Mods & total cost of $1200.00, we have our very own Little Red Dump Truck. We can haul & dump a huge load of Firewood when we have the Side Rails on which changes the bed height another 2 feet! She can haul what ever we want! NOTE: My daughter (Sam) in the window waving at the video Camera. Sorry for the wiggle and shake in the begining of the Video..It was 25 degrees outside.

Finally, a ram dump kit! Looks like it worked out great. I have similar plans, but bought it used on CL. I downloaded the pierce/dodge instructions which show a Chevy. Any help you can provide would be awesome. What mods to the frame are required, mounting distance specified from hinge to scissors mount etc. What unexpected things came up? Did the bed have to move back to prevent it from hitting the cab? Does the bed floor need reinforced? etc. Thanks in advance for your help!
