So to get back to my original inquiry ------------------- how does a clutch work ??????????????
-
That's lift tho
-
Haha wdf I've done and seen clutch job and who puts lubricant in the input shafts and as well the tanks are the easiest part of the job like wdf
-
your wrong Reuben, never seize will never dry out. Always goes in clean and dry.
-
beats the fuck out of a solo clutch though.
-
your way is kind of dumb. i just throw the clutch assembly on the input shaft of the trans and bolt trans on bell housing, line up first clutch bolt at 6 o' clock and rotate flywheel clockwise 'til i start all 8 bolts, then rotate flywheel second time tightening all clutch bolts then rotating a tird time to remove the caging bolts and voila, i can stab a bitch in 30 mins, no sweAT.

What brand and model # is the lift used in video?
-
Jose

-
the clutch was already in. Is this about clutches or jacks in the shop, i didn't even see how you installed the transmission nor the clutch.
-
Thanks for the video man. I am resealing the flywheel housing on my 3408 with brakesaver and it's 10 years since I pulled a clutch and I forgot the finer points.
Pushing up on the alignment tool is a good idea, forgot about that. Google search is great lol -
"some fuckhead stripped em all out".... Lol
-
Only morons put anti seize or oil on the input shaft. CLEAN AND DRY STUPID!
-
Excuse me sr why you like too much weapons?

Great setup to have in the shop! I've always used engine oil to lube the input shaft to stick the trans but it's personal preference as some guys use anti-seize. Easy setup, deep dish flywheel, 14" clutch & probably no trans cooler and no PTO. Old style fuel crossover lines, bottom feed tanks and yeah old style air tank brackets. Since the early mid 2000's International went to a 1/2 bolt non threaded brackets, much lighter too. I can remember when they said trucking was over when Cummins came out with the 444 and Detroit had the Series 60, Cat came out with the 3406C. Then came ABS, drivers were proud about 1994 to have the last of the trucks spec'd with a mechanical pump engine & no ABS, last of a dying breed. The late 90's to 2001 being the pinnacle before hammer dropped and sliding the downward spiral to where we are today and to where we're going. Rolling glider kits are as big as they've ever been with offerings using reman N14's, Series 60's and 6NZ C Series Cats. The good ole days...and hey, be safe in the shop!
