thanks ... found all the replacement parts on Amazon and went to best buy after and they told me it was impossible. saved me a lot of time and headache
-
was this as loud as it was before I'm told that is the factory amp
-
Thanks for the video my unit is starting to die and I was dreading pulling the dash apart. Thanks again man!
-
You should have asked a older Stereo Installer and It should have taken 1 hour max to do this.
-
it isn't that hard
-
Thank you some much man I have been tiring to install my radio for 3 months looking on YouTube and this is the one video that actually informed me about the radio not being the face controller cause I did the same thing where I just ripped it out and cut it and tried to wire it up like that
-
I should have watched this first. My front speakers quit working and I bought the "radio" that was just the control panel, so I solved no problems. I may get a full aftermarket.

i have a 94 chevy 2500 its been 3 years without a frickin radio and i tried changing the stereo several times but the amp and everything else (video, online diagrams)don`t really help as i dont want to F up the wiring....i see the local auto zone carries the metra wiring harness and its says it fits my truck however i have 3 plugs just like i see left over from the extraction of the factory radio that plugged into the im guessing power amp....i dont think anyone has explained if all the wires are needed and if so do i need more adapter`s?
-
Thanks! My tape deck started clicking repeatedly and won't play anymore. I'm ready to rip the damn thing out, and now I can!
-
I followed your directions and I am now done!.....i install a Dual XD221 now i need to do the speakers :)
-
I left my original head unit in place it looks much better than a hole to place trash another thing is if your dash is cracked buy a Dash Mat to cover it up also when I replaced the front speakers well the tweeters came up above the dash meaning one can't put the speaker grills but with the Dash Mat you could leave the grills off and use a much better speaker as I did.

good hepful tip i just orderd me a radio kit to put a new radio in tapdeck.
-
I could post a vid if you could help me

If you comment back youd save my life, i have my tapedeck cut ot and my control, and my radio under my steering wheel has a the wires from the control and tapedeck, but the top side has a set of two plugs i can pull out and then a thick black chord that runs from behind my glove compartment to the unit. I dont want to cut it not knowing whag it does. And the antenna chord on the bottom side has a white wire meshed in and running up under my dash and i donk know where it leads
-
ok basically i removed the control unit couldnt find the radio under the dash, but was i supposed to cut the wire to the unit, i didnt cut it but rather pulled it out with the unit, cassette player was already removed before i purchased the truck, and the previous owner did a quick install and cut some the wires and spliced their own into two of the 3 plugs which looked silly to me so i undid them and taped them up for the time being, but when i pulled the radio control unit out the 3rd unspliced plug came with it, do i need that 3rd plug from the control unit or is there a plug im missing, also i only found 1 antenna wire but the tip where it connects into the new aftermarket stereo, so do i put the wires to the plugs back together and look for another plug and buy a replacement antenna or is there a replacement tip that i can buy? any help would be much appreciated, got a 88 1500 chevy not sure if their similar to gmc as far as wiring and stereos go.
