Machines | 63rd World Ploughing Contest - Saturday 10th September 2016 - at Crockey Hill, near York, England.

This video is a compilation of short clips and still photographs depicting our day at Crockey Hill and the 63rd World Ploughing Championships... featuring the 1st Vintage World Ploughing Championship in part too. I originally thought about making this into a pictorial history of the tractor and had good intentions of putting everything into chronological order. As you can see though this didn't happen and instead you get a mixed up idea of what went on throughout the day. We saw working horses, steam traction engines, tractors (old and new) and lots of tape measures! The results of the four days ploughing can be found on: www.ploughmen.co.uk This certainly won't be the best footage you'll ever see but I hope it gives anyone who couldn't make it to the event a taste of what went on. Hope somebody out there likes it.

It was great seeing all the different types of tractors but my favourite by far has to be the ploughs pulled by horses. Very interesting as we don't get to see tractors like those up here. The weather was in your favour too :-) xx

That was different Rach. Well done - you got some interesting angles and shots in there. And a smattering of steam as well. Any idea why the wreath was on that tractor? Dad x
