Drive them?

Thank you. Excellent video with defensible, well thought out, explanations IMO. As I write this comment I am astounded to discover that 6,908 people gave you a thumbs down. I realize that is totally inconsequential at 0.091% on 7,610,342 views but I do wonder what they didn’t like. Did you shatter some preconceived beliefs they had and that annoyed them? Perplexing… Please keep the videos coming – I am a subscriber now.

or, if your throttle sticks....just turn your key off........................................

First thing to never do; buy one

Hi Jason,
I've heard that revving your engine in Neutral or Park is bad, because it's not under load.
Is this true? My vehicle ('13 Chrysler 300 SRT) is limited to 3500rpm in Park and Neutral, so i'm assuming it is bad.

is he wearing a wig ? lol
-
by repeating coasting in nutral your gear will be destroyed
-
so, if you're having AT, it's best to stay on-Drive while at a stop light, and Neutral if you're having MT...?
-
i was reversing today and without braking at placed to car in drive it went forward a bit then stalled .
-
i coast in neutral literally every single time im behidn the wheel......can it actually HARM my car? because all the reasons that this guy gave not to do it really arent disuading me...?
-
my friends and I broke 2 engine mounts in a Toyota Camry by redlining the engine and then slamming the transmission into drive...but it did do a great burnout! :)
-
what can happen if I turn off the engine while, say rolling down a hill? not the car bc that will lock up my steering
-
I did a shift into park before a full stop. It was a 70's era Chevy. The car and my neck didnt like that at all. Never made that mistake again .
-
In my day it was called Mexican Overdrive (standard transmission).
-
Looking at it from a hazardous side is it really any less dangerous to cost in neutral in auto than it is in a manual?
-
The fruit speech at the end was great, now I don't only know some stuff not to do in a manual transmission car, but different ways to eat a mango.
-
What is the best way to start your car? With the transmisson in Park,or in neutral?
-
Down vote for the horrible advice all around for what to do when the throttle sticks... what a dumbass.

Don't select Park until your park brake is engaged. This will keep the load of the vehicle off the transmission.
Thought #1: 4th reason not to put it in neutral is it is easy to overshoot and hit reverse which will completely destroy the automatic transmission!
Thought #2: Engine breaking down mountain roads is to prevent complete break meltdown which will result is complete loss of breaking. This could kill you on a long downhill - therefore use it on long runs down.
Thought #3: Putting care in neutral at stoplights is wrong for several reasons. 1st if you forget to put it in drive on green, you go nowhere and become an obstruction that could result in an accident (rear ending). 2nd fuel burn is NOT dependant on output it is dependent upon the set fuel flow for idle. It is irrelevant if in drive or not, the engine will burn the same fuel. The only issue is stress on the transmission, but I suspect the shifting will damage the transmission more than idle torque will.
Thought #4: Turning care off in heavy traffic is fine as long as you are not restarting over and over in a short time. That will strain your battery and could burn up the starter - unless it is specifically rated for this type of activity and then it is usually automatic and controlled by an onboard computer.
Thanks again!
