5 Things You Should Never Do With A Manual Transmission Vehicle. Five bad stick shift driving habits. Is it okay to rest your hand on the gearshift? Should you put the car in neutral when you come to a stop? How can you prevent rolling back on a hill? How do you drive a manual on a steep hill? How to hill start. Is it okay to floor it at low engine RPM? Is it okay to rest your foot on the clutch pedal? did anyone see the prius at 1:17

What if i turned off the car and pulled the brake and put in 1 for more safety dose it hurt the car ???
-
Wat king of car is that

I don't have a choice to not feather. Hills are too steep in my area for the handbrake and theres no hill assist in a 97 haha. Yes its been replaced, tightened, etc. Sometimes heel and toe works but typically only when some asshat isn't right on my bumper.
-
when pulling the hand brake you should push the Button ;)

Holding the car on the clutch on a hill is something you have to do to pass a British driving test. It's crazy, but I can only assume the people who set the test didn't know anything about clutches.

I have a few questions 1 if you need to slow down before a stop is it okay if you down shift to slow down a bit? 2 is it true that if you drive in a high gear but dont actually use alot of rpm this saves fuel? 3 does coasting in neutral save fuel or is it better to coast i gear? ty in advance.

Sorry, i didn't understood the number 3 :/
Other than that, excellent tips! I will change my way of driving based on your explanations ☺ -
thanks!

Number 3 in the UK = Hill Start, no clutch holding needed
-
I do most of these every time I drive and my truck has 300,000 miles on it I've never had a tranny problem
-
excellent video. I have 3 6Ms and drive 100k miles per year. My clutches don't normally go out before 300k miles and all of those things I stress to people who drive my cars not to do.

If your selector fork was rubbing against a gear's collar, you would begin to hear a death noise that would have you pulling over immediately. If there's enough play in your selector fork from your gear shifter, you have a bigger problem.

I have four of these bad habits😭

Long live the manual transmission
-
in Finland it's illegal to roll back in hill, you fail your driver's lisence if that happens. Here we're taught to slowly release the clutch until the stearing wheel slighty shakes and when you lift your leg from the brake it should start rolling slowly and after that press the gas. Also the hand brake method is useful when the earlier method doesn't work on steep hill. not sure if there is wear or smth, but it's for like a second so probably not notable.

what seats are those?

In your opinion, what is the better technique for slowing to a stop at a traffic light/stop sign with a manual transmission: downshifting or shifting to neutral and riding the brake? What are the advantage/disadvantages to both techniques?

i wish more vehicles were manual transmission. i hate that manual transmissions are becoming rarer.
