Machines | 5" STRAIGHT PIPE EXHAUST; CATERPILLAR C15 DIESEL TRUCK
videos | at work | information | view | construction
My exhaust on the International 9400 has been asking for an upgrade. The surgery took place at Stadium International in Watertown, NY this Monday, May 21st. I'm pleased with the results. The 'patient' now is lighter, more fuel efficient and ... much louder. Just what the doctor ordered! For business inquiries ONLY, contact me here: sergie613@gmail.com

DOT dont mess with you with nothing but pipe?
-
i have the same engine do u suggest me to do it or not? how cat MAXed your engine, and how much was it?thanks
-
That sounds awesome Sergei. Yes I waited until the end. You rock!

My cab on my m916 is rusted there to, I might run a straight pipe out the back this summer . My m916 6 wheel drive rides on 53 inch tall supper singles and stock was over 12 feet high at the exhaust and would catch tree limbs in town so I had to cut it down anyways. O I see where you came out with pipe and I like it.

love the ground pounder exhaust. don't think back pressure is an issue when running a turbo charger. because that's where your back pressure comes from when exhaust hitting the turbine. definitely would still run a muffler to enhance that deep rumble sound you get from exhaust pounding the ground.
-
Me personally I would've ran a new straight stack up the back of the cab but the turn down sounds good

I have a catC15 acert on 2007 Peterbilt 387 and I did a similar thing except I did a single turbo conversion and removed the muffler from under the truck replaced it with 5" straight pipe all the way to the back stack removed that and put a Pittsburgh power exhaust sounds great feel the power and yes MPG'S did go up I gained every bit of 1.75 miles per gallon and yes I did tune the ECM with other accessories air filter,Ops filter a lot of upgrades but I'm saving about $20,000 a year on fuel

Looks good, sounds good. I don't see a downside. 2 thumbs up!

I got a 9400 and it also has a Caterpillar engine. but my truck has duals. I'm gonna remove the catalytic muffler asap. I want to hear the duals breathing

Hoping to get this done on an International 4300 used for local delivery, exhaust looks just like that, part of it was replaced with cheaper pipe and is rusted worse than stock, has holes already. The truck has a 5" stack but that's the part that's rusted worse.
I'd like to remove the heavy bracket and stack, paint the exhaust up to the muffler, then dump it. It has a same side in/out so that a stack can be used, so it'll need a u-bend then turndown next to the muffler. I'd like to straight pipe it, but we use it in residential neighborhoods and that'd probably be too loud. Just getting rid of the heavy bracket and stack would be nice, reduce a bit of weight and backpressure but keep it quiet, stock muffler still in great shape. -
According to the MTO for Ontario, straight pipes must exit 12' 6" above the ground. Good luck IF you don't get hassled.
-
wow i know this video is few years but this is stadium in exit 48 in watertown. and you were going thru lafargeville on I81
-
Love the way the turbo spools down AFTER he shuts the engine off, no oil pressure to it! Not Good!
-
I bet you just love that when your trying to back up in a dusty yard
-
Yeah that sounds way better and yeah the back pressure don't worry about that it help you with fuel mileage...
-
Sounds awesome man I did the same thing to my 5.9 Cummins diesel in my Dodge and in my top kick GMC I have a 3116 Cat in it The mufflers leaving there is a big power difference sounds nice man
-
That sounds really good
-
less boost is good. boost is a measurement of restriction .less boost means better mpg and better breathing in the engine
-
agreed.. it sounds pretty good.. gives me an idea to do something like this to my 2001 F-250 7.2L.. and suggestions as to what NOT to do.. thanks for posting........!!
-
I always said the same, backpressure? WHY! No restrictions is best!
