Sometimes we do, this was in a hay field and not a single rock was hit, 11 feet cut in the back corner. But about 1/8 mile to the left across the valley I put a new septic system in and like to never got the tank in the ground! It was purple shale just under the surface,and had to haul in dirt to backfill with.

Have a 555, love it. Live in East Central Mo, along Mo River, and we usually hit rock during basement excavations, and have to do some blasting. Do u have that issue as well, or not so much?
