This is a 300-tonne Euclid AC electric drive dumper with trolley assist. Going uphill the truck hooks into the main grid and gets a boost; coming down, it hooks into the grid and through regenerative braking puts electricity back into the grid. Check the tone of the turbos when the grid kicks in.

I have seen 300 ton haul trucks use this at Barrick Gold Strike in Nevada it's pretty neat to see the trucks go from less than 5 mphs to 20 after they hook up to grid coming out of the pit !!!!
Doesn't sound at all like a 2 stroke Detroit. Sounds like some kind of 4 stroke V 12 or V16.
dont know exactly wat engine in this truck would either be a 2 stroke detriot diesel or it sounds to me like a cummins 4 stroke diesel.
I've seen trolleybuses before, but a trolley dump truck is a new one for me.
I wish I could go with this Monster Dump Truck by the McDonald's drive thru and get my morning coffe, just for the fun of it :)

@RODALCO2007 Look up Siemens Trolley Assist on Google, theirs can work on older 1400-1600V DC or newer 2600V DC lines.
