The Stanford Graduate School of Business diploma ceremony was held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Frost Amphitheater. In his remarks to the 531 degree recipients, Dean Garth Saloner advised, "Do not be confused about what really matters: it is the most important relationships in your life that give it meaning." Mary Barra, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of General Motors and MBA '90, also addressed the group. In summary, 413 students received MBA degrees, 21 PhDs, 89 Master of Science in Management degrees and 8 Master of Arts in Business Research degrees. Award winners included Michael Chengrui Ding (MBA '16), who placed at the top of the class, earning the 2016 Henry Ford II Scholar designation. Jason Alexander Scott (MBA '16) received the Ernest C. Arbuckle Award for having contributed most to the fulfillment of the goals of the Stanford GSB both within school and society. Soren Benedikt Sudhof (MBA '16) was awarded the Alexander A. Robichek Student Achievement Award in Finance.
