Machines | 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Review - Impractical, Strenuous, Superb
videos | at work | information | view | construction
The Alfa Romeo 4C is an Italian sports coupe with a carbon fiber monocoque matched with a 6 speed twin clutch transmission with paddle shifters. A mid-engine 1.7L turbo I4 produces 237 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle weighs less than 2,500 lbs and is truly a drivers car, with little in the way of everyday drivability. Though incredibly impractical, it's an experience unlike any other road car out there, with manual steering, floor mounted brake and throttle pedals, and exceptional chassis rigidity. Options Included: - Convenience Group - Leather Interior Group - Red Car Cover - Bi-Xenon Headlamps - Sport Tuned Dual Exhaust - Forged Dark 5 Hole Wheels - Battery Charger - Tire Pressure Monitoring Display - Red Performance Brake Calipers - Premium Paint Base Price: $53,900 MSRP As Tested: $67,395 Please feel free to rate, comment, and subscribe! How does this compare to a Lotus Elise?
-
garbage

Any idea why alfa would make a car with a mid engine, no power steering, but automatic transmission. I know dual clutch shifts faster than I can, but that's not really the point.
-
Many other Journalists are complaining about the inconsistent steering feel at different speeds. They say it doesn't inspire confidence when pushing the car as they don't know what the limit of grip is.
-
What a genuine and factual review! Good Job!
-
Nothing compares to driving an Alfa. Any Alfa for that matter. I have a 79 Spider, and a 91 164l. Soon to get a 4c!
-
In a nutshell, a real sport car.
-
I'll better choose a Lotus

This car doesn't make much sense. Don't know who in their right mind would buy it.
A BRZ is $40k less...$45k to 50k less if used... and more practical. Slap on a turbo on a BRZ and do some modest weight reduction (lightweight wheels, pulley, driveshaft.... all could be done for around $7k-8k more) and you have a car that's about the same or better than the 4C as this but for $30k to $40k less. With the $30k to $40k saved you can buy a nice 2nd daily driver car.... even a brand new Sti lol.
A Turbo BRZ and a new Sti or a 237hp Fiat 4C? Um, yeah. This car doesn't make much sense.
Plus Fiat's have terrible reputations as far as reliability goes. -
You should review the Lotus Elise S2 and/or a 2ZZGE powered MR2 Spyder. Very similar to what you are driving, albeit the torque is not like the Alfa outside of a turbocharger/supercharger. Great review and great fun!

I'm not a car guy, but I've been smitten by the 4C and I've watched most of the major Youtube reviews of the vehicle. After a while, they get boring as the same info is repeated. I was absolutely floored to watch yours with just novel comment after novel comment. I honestly can't believe that everyone else missed so much. Best review, by far.

I guess the 4C being hotter than all women combined just went without saying, right?
Not liking how this car looks doesn't make you homosexual or anything, it makes you more of an asexual lobotomy victim. I'm serious, doesn't matter what you're attracted to, you're gonna be attracted to this car even if it shouldn't be physically possible. -
Sounds like a honda civic with a hole in the exhuast

Very good review, man. I didn't know that facts can be so much fun :D The car iis the best sports car on the market today in my oppinion
-
Very nice car, very nice review :)

I test drove a Cayman S before buying this car. I bought the 4C because I like dating the high maintenance model that turns every head in the room when you walk in. I've never had so much fun simply talking to people who come up to me asking what it is and marveling at its beauty...

This or Cayman/Boxster?

Nice review !

This review and Chris Harris' is by far the best, imo.
